Kronoset manual
Everything you need to mount your Kronoset on court, pick a scoring mode and get the most out of the app. If anything is unclear, write to info@kronoset.com.
1. Installation
Where to put it
On the back glass of the court, at head height, around 1.70 m. From there it reads from anywhere: the display is legible from 30 metres and a court is 20 metres long. It works better in the middle of the glass than in a corner.
How it attaches
- Glass → suction cups. Already fitted. Each holds 30 kg and the scoreboard weighs under 1 kg.
- Mesh or fence → hooks. They come in the box. Nothing else to buy.
Either way it goes on and comes off by hand. No drilling, no screws, no touching the electrics. If one day you need to move it to another court, it takes a minute.
Wash the glass before fitting the suction cups
This is the tip that saves the most trouble. Suction cups grip badly on dust, dry dirt or cleaning product residue. Wipe the area with a damp cloth, dry it, then fit them. If the glass is cold and damp, dry it properly: a suction cup on water slides even when it looks like it has gripped.
When fitting, press the centre until it sits flat. If it moves when you tug gently, take it off and repeat.
Power
The Kronoset base has no built-in battery, and that is deliberate: almost everyone already owns a power bank, and there is no sense charging you for one twice.
- With a power bank. Any one with USB-C 5 V / 3 A output. A 10,000 mAh unit lasts more than 20 matches.
- Plugged in. With an ordinary USB charger it runs 24 hours straight.
The Kronoset PRO does have a built-in battery.
Indoor use
Kronoset is designed for covered courts. It is not weatherproof: do not leave it outdoors or exposed to rain.
2. Scoring modes
Changing mode on the scoreboard itself
With the button on the unit. Each press moves to the next mode, and after the last one it returns to the first. The chosen mode is saved: switch it off and on and it stays the same.
To know which one you are in, look at the coloured LED.

How you score a point
By holding your racket up to the sensor. No remote, no wristband, nothing to touch by hand.
- One second → the point goes up.
- Three seconds → it goes down, in case you got it wrong.
There is a sensor on each side, one per pair.
Your scoreboard is a padel one
The sport is set at the factory and cannot be changed from the unit or the app. Yours is padel, and the six modes above are the ones it has.
3. The app
The apps are free, for iPhone, Android and Apple Watch. There is no paid version: no locked features, no subscription, no ads, no sign-up.
The watch app works without a scoreboard
The Apple Watch app has a Standalone Mode that keeps score for a whole match from the watch, without owning any Kronoset.
- A tap on a team's side adds a point.
- Press and hold that same side to take it off.
- Swipe sideways for games, sets, changing mode or resetting.
- The watch vibrates when a point is added, when a game closes and when the match ends. You do not have to look at the screen mid-point.
The scoreboard screen
At the top, both teams' score in points, games and sets. The blue dot next to a team shows who is serving.
Below, Quick scoring: the + and − buttons for each team. The Points · Games · Sets selector decides what those buttons act on. Set to Games, the + adds a game, not a point. That is how you fix a score that has drifted without restarting the match.
Settings
- Change game mode — pick one of the six modes.
- Create game mode — invent your own.
- Configure Kronoset — device name, sensors and colours.
- Check for update — install the latest version.
- Forget this device — unpair it from the phone.
- Gesture detection — raise your thumb to mark a moment while recording.
Changing the game mode
The colour of the circle is the same as the LED on the scoreboard. If the LED is green, you are in Golden point with Super Tiebreak. It is the fastest way to know which mode you are in without taking out your phone.
Creating your own mode
If your club plays a format that is not on the list, build it: give it a name, choose how many sets to win, how many games per set, whether the decider is Advantage or Golden point, and whether there is a tiebreak in the set. It is saved and appears alongside the rest.
Configuring the scoreboard
- Device name — genuinely useful in a club: call them Court 1, Court 2… and stop guessing which is which in the Bluetooth list.
- Sensor sensitivity — Low, High or Auto. Leave it on Auto unless you have trouble: in bright light Low helps, and on dark courts High.
- LED colour for each team — red and blue by default, changeable.
- Reset settings — puts everything back to factory.
Updating the scoreboard
It shows the version your scoreboard has and checks whether a newer one exists. If it does, it installs from the phone with no cables. Keep the phone near the scoreboard while it runs.
The base and the PRO run different versions, each with its own numbering. Do not compare one model's number with the other's: each looks for its own.
Videos (Kronoset PRO)
The PRO records the match with the score burned into the picture. The videos you record stay here, and Record starts a new one.
With gesture detection on, raising your thumb during the match marks that moment, so you can find it later without watching the whole video.
