The Premier Padel tour is back after Roland Garros. This week the Rotterdam P2 is being played at the Ahoy arena in the Netherlands: qualifying ran from Sunday 27 to Tuesday 29 September, and the main draw starts on Tuesday, with the finals on Sunday 4 October. There are 28 pairs in the men's draw and 24 in the women's, with total prize money of 264,534 euros, according to the FIP.

Rotterdam opens the decisive part of the season, with the race for number one still open in both categories. In the men's draw, Galan and Chingotto are chasing Coello and Tapia, who arrive as world number ones and defending champions at the Ahoy. The top four seeds in each draw will not play until Thursday, when Coello and Tapia face Alonso and Goni.

The most open women's draw in a long time

In the women's event, Triay and Brea are defending both the title and top spot, but their rivals are close behind: Sanchez and Ustero, Gonzalez and Josemaria, and Fernandez and Calvo all arrive with a real chance of winning. The first big test for the favourites could come in the semi-finals.

Guerrero and Leal will also feature in the top half of the men's draw, with very little rest after winning the FIP Platinum in Lyon on Sunday. Meanwhile, several mid-ranked pairs have opted to travel to Italy for the FIP Gold in Perugia, played the same week, as the race to the Finals in Barcelona heats up.
